Hello and thank you for visiting our channel.
We are Mark and Sheila. We were born in Philippines and moved to New York at the ages of 10 and 11.
For the past 30 years we lived in New York with our families.
We love traveling and our journey to explore the world started over 10 years ago.
For the past 5 years we dreamed of leaving New York and moving back to Asia, specifically Philippines. However, life has other plans and we are grateful for our detour to Malaysia. We moved to Malaysia in March 2024. We love this country and its people. We look forward to making this place our home and exploring everything it has to offer.
You will find videos about our life as an expat in Malaysia, and our travels during our free time.

Weekend in Malacca with new friends | Malaysian Hospitality
We did a last minute trip to Malacca or Melaka in Malaysia. Mark's coworker invited us to join him and wife for the weekend. We walked and sampled the food from Jonker Street Night Marker. Explored the street art and colorful streets, and tasted delicious nyonya cuisine. Had delicious lunch at Restoran Nyonya Makko, and fell in love with Cendol.
It's a small city full of hidden charm, and we can't wait to go back again
Some places we loved were Yu neighborhood bar, Behind the Door Cafe, Jonker Street Night Market, and Malacca Strait Cultural Museum.

We spent a day at The Exchange TRX Mall in Kuala Lumpur
Переглядів 5 тис.21 день тому
Come spend almost a whole day exploring The Exchange TRX Mall. It's the new luxurious attraction in Kuala Lumpur. We usually come here often since they opened a Shake Shack on the top floor. Mark gets cravings for a burger and shake shack is one of his favorite, just like when we used to live in New York. He also gets his haircut in the mall at Huuk. Our favorite coffee places are Reborn and Ba...

Here's a glimpse of our week as an expat living in Kuala Lumpur. Went to APW in Bangsar for lunch at Breakfast thieves. I had their Bonnie & Clyde. Walked around a bit. Pretty cool spot with a couple of cafes and restaurants. Loved the coffee at Pulp. Joined a barre class at Rebarre in Bangsar. Bought some groceries at The Hive, which promotes zero waste products. Had lunch at VCR in Bangsar. W...

Welcome to Malaysia! ❤ Nasi Lemak Wanjo, Kampung Baru, KL is my favorite since 1996, back then nasi lemak was served by the owner itself and actually underrated compared to their close rival - Nasi Lemak Antarabangsa...😁👍😋
I miss NYC so dearly but I’m also very glad to be home (Malaysia), though I’m still finding a Mexican place that sells tamales 🫔 🌽
How can u be this chill.. its the best karipap.
There’s a bunch of amazing vegetarian places in Penang! Just google for vegetarian cafes and restaurants, the Chinese vegetarian places are really delicious. There’s this rlly good Indian restaurant which is vegetarian called woodlands as well…
Banana leave in Bangsar, I don’t know the name but often there’s going to be a queue for seating 😂
what??? you both really move to Malaysia?!
Wonderful 😊mall tour . Really such a beautiful modern architect elegant mall in BUKITBINTANG CITYCENTRE. Recently visited this place
Isn't that Jason also have his own YT channel "Smashpop"? It's him right? Hehehe~~~
Sabah in Borneo..a must visit!
this looks a lot like happy mansion at section 17, Petaling Jaya, not Kuala Lumpur..
go ipoh and try michealangelo's pizza
Welcome
I’m renting at United Point Residence. It’s pet friendly, as far as I know. One unit on my floor has two beautiful malamutes. It’s in Segambut (not sure if it’s within an area of your choice).
Great🎉 how much did the grab charge from airport to city centre?
100 RM from the airport. From.city center to airport recently was 120 RM. Depends on the time of day, but the average was 100. Public transportation is cheaper, but we prefer convenience.
HALAL TOIBA by JAKIM???
You’re are originally from what the
Wellcome
Be happy to take you both to a dim sum place in KL 😊
Vegetarian in Malaysia?! 😂
Welcome to Malaysia! 🇲🇾
Thank you. Loving it here
I'm sorry not trying to be negative or something but is KL the only destination you guys know in Malaysia? if you travel for a peace of mind escape from the hectic live in the big apple you should probably consider the islands, there's tons of beautiful islands in Malaysia, definitely a great sweet escape you know
Thanks for being here. Come to Penang, the food capital, if you've not already.
Coffee bean plenty of bagels. Midvalley also has a whole bagel corner. My fav is jalapeno
Ima fly from Cali to Vietnam. Then vietnam to Malaysia. I cant wait! 🥹✨🤙
Malaysia is special. My only complaint is that it's located 3° latitude from the Equator; it's hot here. Otherwise, I love it here.
Sweating so much after 10 minutes walking outside 😂
@@Married2Travel 32°C seems constant.😅
Welcome to Malaysia, we hope you love our country
We love it here
Welcome to Malaysia. Nice to see you enjoying the food. There are many places with good food. I'm checking out new places for more as old cooks are retiring, or moved elsewhere. Try these restaurants in KL. Medan Selera Boustead, Menara Boustead at Jalan Raja Chulan (take the lift to 8th floor, entrance at car park behind the building) - Indian food, Lunch only for claypot chicken rice, chinese dishes and soup. Some malay food but I haven't tried them yet. Opens only on weekdays. Brothers' Nasi Lemak stall behind Holiday Inn Express at Jalan Raja Chulan (the only stall with long queue) - Nasi Lemak (Weekdays and breakfast only, adviseable to be there around 7.45am) Semua House Chicken Rice at Pertama Complex 2nd floor - Chicken Rice (Lunch only) Restoran Soong Kee at Jalan Silang - Beef Ball noodles and some chinese food. Pudu Market Food Court (This is a wet market. The smell can be extreme for some people) - Curry Laksa and Wanton noodles with delicious Roasted Pork that melts in your mouth. (Dinner only) Setapak Prawn Mee, Kopitam Batu Tiga at Jalan Ipoh - Prawn Mee
Wow thank you so much!
You are so brave for eating the laksa in a white shirt
😂😂 Sheila stained her shirt on this video

They were originally called Pho a decade ago and when I first entered their new outlet after a decade, they still remember me and hit me with my fav. The best and closest to the original.
Kuih ketayap is different. I believe the dessert that you are eating is a cake inspired from the original kuih ketayap. I have been to IKEA for a long time. I will make a visit to IKEA soon. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Fruits Veg Rice Chicken Eggs palm cooking oil is cheap in Malaysia thus everyone is well fed and facing obesity issues 😂
Welcome to Malaysia
Try grumpy bagels near TRX, I heard it's good, but you have to line up early as they sold out by brunch time, I haven't been there myself but plan to soon
"Selamat Datang" (Welcome) to Malaysia. Wishing you both a pleasant stay and happy exploring. Take care & be safe always 🤝🇲🇾❤️😊✌️
I know this is not typical n strange but currently my fav bagel is in great wall bercham kopitiam at Ipoh. It's odd cause it's those local kopitiam place w no tourist at all but i love their bagel. Try it if u r around ipoh

Laksa has different forms in different states/towns. So you cant just generalized laksa. They dont taste the same everywhere
Come on in indonesia, location jakarta SCBD
🤭👍welcome to malaysia sir
Kedai ini jual laksa dan kue tiow goreng pemiliknya bukan muslim bererti ianya tidak halal, kalau tak silaf nampak saperti ada orang melayu nak masuk, ingat2 ya periksa dulu halal atau tidak jangan bantai makan saja asal no pork no lard.
Ala. Diorang bukan Islam pun. Tak salah pun diorang nak explore. Yang melayu Islam tu pasti keluar balik bila dah sedar kedai bukan halal. Jangan risau k.
Let me honest Malaysia pizza ? Italian pizza ? Or America pizza which is the best ? 😊
We miss New York City pizza slice specifically. It’s a large slice that’s greasy and cheesy. Hard to find it anywhere else
No way I’m going to Malaysia for the first time today I’m leaving going to madrian orienta and lankawi
So how is Malaysia for you.?
As a Malaysian , all I can say such that Malaysia is much lower in living cost which created the major advantage compared to to the neighboring countries. Other factors may be secondary and can be improved over time😊
